Yes, in my humble, redneck, uneducated opinion, the deer whistles do work. BUT - I am not smart enough to figure out if the whistle will scare them off the road, or scare them on to the road. It will certinally get them moving around. Sometimes that is good, sometimes not.
You do have to keep the bugs cleaned out of them. Its like this... you cannot whistle if your mouth is full of cornbread!
I find it strange that the state assumes all responsibility for all game. The state will tell you when, where, how, and how many of what kind can be "harvested". Let that same animal go and do something wrong such as hit a car and hurt someone--- then the state clames "that ain't my deer".
Worse than that, do not get caught trying to salvage the meat or horns after the animal has done several thousand dollers worth of damage to your property!!!!
Maby the "be good to the animals" people should set up some sort of fund to pay back all the damage that Bambe does to the general motoring public.
